Our school
We are a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation that provides free educational support to students from Pakenham in south-eastern Melbourne, Victoria. Our organisation began in 2020 with the specific aim of contributing towards community-led, education-based support for young students in low Socio-Economic Status (SES) areas. Saturday School became a registered charity in 2021.
What we do
Saturday School is a free on-going group tutoring program that works with Grade 1 students every Saturday for 2 hours over the course of a 12-month period. We are an entirely volunteer-run organisation with a clear focus on quality engagement and consistent educational support. Saturday School is centred in one location to provide community-led support to multiple families. Please read Our Program page for more information.
Our purpose
Our purpose and vision is to empower children in low SES areas by providing instruction and guidance that aims to improve their educational and life outcomes.
